Mike Stewart - PRACTICE PRINCIPAL
Dip.Phty., Dip Manip Physiotherapy, PGD Sports Medicine, Reg Phty Acupuncturist. Since graduating in 1984 Michael has gained postgraduate qualifications in Manipulative Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine and is a registered Physiotherapy acupuncturist. Michael has a wealth of knowledge on musculoskeletal issues having examined on the Manipulative Physiotherapy Diploma from 2004 - 2008. He has toured extensively with Maori All Blacks 1996 - 2009, NZ Divisional Rugby 2000, 2002, and North Otago Rugby 1989 - 2008. He is a member of NZ Physiotherapy, NZ Manipulative Physiotherapists Assn, Physiotherapy Accupuncture NZ and Private Physiotherapy Association.
Michelle Sintmaartensdyk - PRACTICE PRINCIPAL
Dip. Phty, Dip. MT, PGD Sports Medicine, Registered Physiotherapy Acupuncturist. Michelle graduated as a Physiotherapist in 1984. Since that time she has gained Postgraduate qualifications in Manipulative Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine and Acupuncture. Michelle has a special interest in treating patients with longstanding or chronic and complex musculoskeletal problems.
Nicki Newlands - PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Nicola graduated in 1994 and worked at Oamaru Physiotherapy for 7 years before leaving to have a family. She then worked in community based rehabilitation, including chronic pain management, pain injury, concussion management and return to work planning, before returning the the clinic in early 2015. She has post graduate qualifications in manipulative therapy, sports medicine and occupational physiotherapy. Nicola has a special interest in helping patients with persistant pain conditions, concussion rehabilitation and vestibular/dizziness issues. Away from work Nicola helps on the family farm, runs around after two busy kids and enjoys running and golf.
Jeannie Brown - PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Dip Phty. Jeannie graduated in 1980 and has been working for the Oamaru Physiotherapy Clinic for the past 12 years. Prior to this she worked in rotation positions in Dunedin and Oamaru. Jeannie is our resident specialist in manual handling in health care and runs regular lifting and manual handling training in the aged care sector. Outside of the clinic Jeannie runs a busy ram breeding business with her husband.
Sherry Tsao - PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Sherry graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor in Physiotherapy in 2015 and joined the Oamaru Physio Team in 2016. She was born in Malaysia and moved to New Zealand as a student with her family a number of years ago. Sherry has a wonderful grasp of languages being fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay. She brings youth and enthusiasm to the team and is enjoying furthering her knowledge in the areas of chronic pain and musculoskeletal management.
Duncan Drew - PHYSIOTHERAPIST
B Phty. Crd MDT. Duncan graduated in 1998 from Otago University and has worked in Private Practice since. He has a wealth of experience with sports team involvement having provided services to several Otago age group teams and 7 seasons as Physiotherapist with the Otago Volts Cricket Team. Duncan has a special interest in advanced rehabilitation. He is also a credentialed McKenzie Therapist. Duncan continues to enjoy playing competitive cricket along with a number of social sports.
